“As I grew to love the children, I also learned more about their individual stories. The knowledge of the horrible things they had been through made me even more impressed with their resilience, their joy, and their anticipation of a better tomorrow. Niños de Guatemala stepped in to take care of these wonderful souls when no one else would. The staff and management have big hearts and are anxiously engaged in creating a better future for the many children in need in Guatemala. Their unique model of working to reunite families is revolutionary in a system that seems complacent to raise children in large institutional settings... I recommend volunteering with these amazing children to anyone; you will give a lot, but you will get back more than you ever imagined.”
